Exploring Your Self-Esteem

  • On a scale of 1-10, How would you rate your self-esteem?

Answer the following questions:

  1. How did your family contribute to your self-esteem (good or bad)?
  2. How did friends, classmates and/or teachers contribute to your self-esteem?
  3. What have you learned to do to increase your self-esteem?
  4. What activities make you feel positive about yourself?
  5. What, if anything, makes you feel good about yourself?
  6. Share a few strengths and/or achievements.
  7. Try to answer the question: Who are you?
  8. What do you appreciate about yourself?
  9. What do you accept about yourself?
  10. What are you having difficulty accepting about yourself, and why?
  11. What makes you unique?
  12. How would you describe yourself?
  13. What, if anything, makes you feel badly about yourself?
  14. What role do you play in your self-esteem, e.g. What are the silent messages you send yourself through the course of the day?

For each of the following, rate yourself on a scale from 1-10:

  6. Wise
  7. Kind
  8. Helpful
  9. Empathetic
  10. Friendly
  11. Likeable
  12. Hardworking

  18. Learn from mistakes
  19. Integrity
  20. Compassion
